Incident Response

This page describes how to report security incidents, how eCourtDate monitors for threats, and how the platform coordinates with affected agencies during an incident.

Reporting a Security Issue

If you discover or suspect a security issue involving your eCourtDate account or data, report it immediately through the Help Center.

When reporting, include:

  • Description of the issue or observed behavior
  • Timeline of when the issue was first noticed
  • Impact assessment including which systems or data may be affected
  • Urgency level: Mark the request as "SECURITY INCIDENT" for immediate priority
danger

If you believe credentials have been compromised, rotate them immediately before filing a report. Revoke affected API keys via Console > APIs and generate new ones. See Key Management for rotation procedures.

Platform Monitoring

eCourtDate employs continuous monitoring to detect and respond to security events:

  • Real-time activity logging: All API requests, authentication events, and user actions are logged. See Audit Logging.
  • Automated security scans: OWASP Top 10 and CWE/SANS Top 25 vulnerability scanning runs against the platform. See Vulnerability Management.
  • CloudFlare WAF: Web Application Firewall detects and blocks malicious traffic patterns in real time.
  • Full audit trail: Complete history of events is maintained and never deleted.

Incident Notification

When eCourtDate identifies a security incident that affects customer data or availability:

  • Audit log access: Agencies retain full access to their audit logs during and after an incident. See Audit Logging.
  • Replay functionality: The replay feature allows agencies to reconstruct event timelines for their own investigation. See Audit Logging.
  • Remediation: eCourtDate implements fixes and communicates the resolution through the Status Page and direct notification.
  • Post-incident review: Lessons learned are applied to improve security controls and monitoring.
