Twilio Gateway
What is Twilio?
Twilio is a cloud communications provider that operates phone network infrastructure for delivering SMS text messages and voice calls. Rather than your agency needing to set up and maintain its own telephony equipment, Twilio provides the "pipes" that carry your messages. If your agency already has a Twilio account with approved phone numbers, you can connect it to eCourtDate so that SMS and voice notifications are delivered through your existing Twilio setup.
This section describes the anticipated Twilio gateway integration. Details may change — verify with eCourtDate support.
The Twilio gateway enables SMS and voice delivery through your own Twilio account. This integration allows eCourtDate to send message requests to Twilio using your credentials and phone numbers.
Configuration
The following fields are anticipated for Twilio gateway configuration:
| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Twilio Account SID | Your Twilio account identifier | ACxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |
| Auth Token | Your Twilio authentication token | — |
| Phone Number | The Twilio phone number to send from | +15551234567 |
Use Cases
- Existing Twilio accounts: Agencies that already have Twilio accounts with approved and verified phone numbers can connect them directly to eCourtDate.
- Custom voice message delivery: Deliver automated voice notifications to court participants using Twilio's voice capabilities.
- SMS notifications: Send text message reminders for court dates, payment deadlines, and other time-sensitive notifications.
Integration Pattern
The Twilio gateway follows this integration pattern:
- eCourtDate prepares the message content and recipient details.
- eCourtDate sends the message request to Twilio using your Account SID and Auth Token.
- Twilio delivers the SMS or voice message from your configured phone number.
- Delivery status is reported back to eCourtDate for tracking and reporting.
Setup
To configure a Twilio gateway, navigate to the gateway settings in the eCourtDate Console and provide your Twilio account credentials and phone number.
